Pokémon Sword & Shield: Catching Galarian Slowpoke

Galarian Slowpoke is a new Pokémon in Sword and Shield. Not much is known yet about this version of Slowpoke. What we do know however, is that this Slowpokes comes from The Isle of Armor, one of the new areas in the expansion pass.

Galarian Slowpoke will appear both in Pokémon Sword and in Shield without the need to have the expansion pass. After Pokemon Direct ended on January 9th both games got a free update which includes this Slowpoke.

How to get Galarian Slowpoke

After you have installed the update make your way to Wedgehurst Station. This station is located in the first city that has a train station.

Next, after you enter the station you will be met with a new trainer. In Pokémon Sword this will be Klara. In Pokémon Shield this will be Avery. After meeting either Klara or Avery you will get a chance to catch the Galarian Slowpoke.

Finally, when battling the Galarian Slowpoke you do not have to worry about its low level of 12. When defeating it you can try your luck again at catching it. The only way for this Slowpoke to disappear is if you catch it.

Evolving your Slowpoke

To evolve the Galarian Slowpoke you will require different special items. To get Galarian Slowbro, you will need an item which is found on The Isle of Armor. For the Galarian Slowking it will be an item found in The Crown Tundra. As of now there is no information yet about which items you will need. But we are sure to find out when either more information is released or when the Pokémon Sword and Shield expansion is released somewhere near the end of June.
